President-elect Barack Obama is naming a board of economic experts outside government to advise him on ways to create jobs and bring stability to the ailing financial system.
Lawmakers have called key players from past and present, including former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan, to congressional hearings Thursday on the current financial crisis.
Thanks, runner. Man we have serious problems in this country, but I am optimistic. I think we still have enough people left in this country with smarts (reading some of these blogs indicate a major "dumbing down" going on in the USA) that will find a way to cheat the reaper.
Thanks for your overview. Informative and thought provoking and realistic. Forget that liberal ditz Rhonda that plays the "damsel-in-distress with her Othello Obama black knight in shining armor" routine. The socialist mentality needs a hero because that's the way underachievers are. Well, I don't know if you can forget about people like that---that is part of the substrate that Obama represents. Anyway, thanks for your overview.

Have you seen the Money Masters on Google? Very educational.
You definitely hit the nail on the head! I just watched the 'America...from freedom to fascism' video that's out there. Very enlightening. With nothing of real value backing up the dollar, the bottom MUST drop out sooner or later.
The issue about John McCain's support for veterans isn't so much one way or the other about his particular service in Vietnam or his "bond" with them in the intellectual sense. My frustration is that he has never been there, from a legislative support point of view, for the vets. I have been very active within the veteran/active duty community for the past ten years and I can tell you, John McCain has not. The absolute record here is very clear and available through FactCheck.org.
Your comment regarding supporting McCain should he become President is absolutely on point. The same can be said for Obama. The sad part in all of these elections is the descent into personal nonsense instead of issue discussion. There are very real differences between the two men and these are what we should be discussing, not whose style points are better or worse.
It you truly care about veterans, check out the record. One of the candidates has stood with our vets, for their healthcare, for their educational benefits, for their equitable treatment. One has not. If we, as a country are prepared to send our sons and daughters off to war, then by goodness we need to be prepared to care for them when they come home. To me, this isn't an option, it is a covenant.
